AL ST LOUIS SPEAKS at Spice Youth Toronto’s Literary Night ‘Crick Crack’

Thursday February 10th, 2011

439 University Avenue, Suite 930
Grenada Consulate Office
Time: 6 – 9pm

Al St. Louis is one of Toronto’s foremost Spoken Word Poet, Motivational Educator, Actor, Host and all-round Entertainer. Being an ambassador for change, Al performs his unique brand of spiritually intense poetry throughout the Canadian scholastic system.  He is the founder and host of When Words Are Spoken, an ongoing event created as a platform for established and up-and-coming artists to share their inspirational spoken words and musical talents.  Al’s wit and charm rounds out his equal passion and talent for acting.  Al has acted and performed with Billy Dee Williams, Terence Howard, Andre 3000, Tyrese & Roy Ayers as well as worked behind the scenes with John Singleton, Spike Lee and many other reputable artists.

St. Louis discovered the power of the spoken word to affect change, to bring social and personal consciousness, in 2000 and has since performed his own brand of spiritually intense Spoken Words on many stages in Toronto, sharing the spotlight with various established artists. His passion for life is evident not only in the painstaking effort he applies to setting up his entertaining shows, but also in his writing style and delivery. His words alter one's perspective on the man-made "absolutes" of this world, as his voice resonates through the rafters of each venue powerfully, rhythmically, “Poetically”…gently expanding minds made narrow by social pressure. Enabling; probing; creating….A new school of thought, a new system of …… ‘OVERstanding….’.
On Thursday Night, February 10th, 2011, at Spice Youth Toronto’s Literary Night, dubbed ‘Crick Crack’ after a popular Caribbean story-telling tradition; St. Louis will appear once again to thrill his audience. Bringing, as always; a spiritual awakening of sorts, expounding a theme specifically geared towards enlightening the mind, body and soul, because…..
Spoken Word is the medium from which change will come.”
